Amber Biello-Taylor, LCSW, CAP

Amber Biello-Taylor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and a Certified Addition Professional with over a decade of experience helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive. Known for building meaningful connections early on, she brings a warm, compassionate presence to therapy while also helping clients work toward real, lasting change.

Amber specializes in helping individuals heal from childhood trauma, sexual abuse, physical violence, and the unique challenges of blended family dynamics. She also supports clients in overcoming a wide range of struggles, including substance abuse, anxiety, depression, anger, isolation, legal issues, relationship conflicts, financial and occupational stress, and burnout. With a diverse background, she has worked with active duty and retired military personnel, young professionals, and individuals from all walks of life, providing compassionate, results-driven care tailored to each person’s journey.

With certifications in addictions and training in EMDR therapy, Amber integrates a holistic, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed approach to counseling. What truly sets her apart is her belief that therapy is both an art and a science—a delicate balance of fostering deep connection, instilling hope, and guiding clients toward meaningful, ongoing change. She masterfully integrates evidence-based practices, customizes treatment to fit each individual’s needs, and empowers clients to create transformation beyond the therapy room.

For Amber, three qualities define an exceptional counselor: flexibility, empathy, and advocacy. Flexibility allows her to meet clients where they are, adapting to their evolving needs. Empathy creates a safe, judgment-free space where healing can begin. And advocacy ensures that every client feels seen, heard, and supported—not just in therapy, but within the larger systems that impact their well-being.

Beyond her clinical work, Amber has been a mentor and consultant, guiding both emerging and seasoned clinicians in the field. She is deeply committed to reshaping the way mental health professionals cultivate their own resilience while providing the highest level of care to those they serve.

As the founder of Cozy Couch Counseling LLC, Amber has created a warm, welcoming space where clients feel safe to heal, grow, and rediscover their inner strength. Amber is dedicated to ensuring that progress made in therapy extends far beyond the final session, creating a foundation for sustainable healing and transformation.

My Commitment to Growth— So I Can Better Support Yours

Being a therapist is more than a profession to me—it’s a calling. And I believe that to truly hold space for others, I must also do the work of holding space for myself. Growth is a lifelong journey, and I’m deeply committed to continuing mine so that I can show up fully present, informed, and compassionate for the people I serve.

I actively engage in ongoing education and training, regularly attending professional seminars, conferences, and continuing education courses in evidence-based practices. This helps me stay current with research and tools that support real healing.

Equally important is the inner work—my own self-reflection, mindfulness practices, and participation in therapy. I believe in walking the same path I ask my clients to walk. Tending to my own emotional well-being allows me to offer a grounded, attuned presence in session.

Safety is not the absence of threat. It is the presence of connection.

WHY COZY COUCH COUNSELING?

The name Cozy Couch Counseling was born from a deep belief that healing begins with feeling safe, recognized, and truly comfortable. I’ve always been fascinated by the image of someone on a therapist’s couch—open, and vulnerable. That image has deep roots in the history of therapy itself.

In the early 20th century, Sigmund Freud introduced the use of the couch in psychoanalysis. He believed that when clients weren’t face-to-face with the therapist, they could speak more freely—without the pressure of eye contact or social cues. The couch became a symbol of emotional safety, a space where unconscious thoughts could rise to the surface and healing could begin through honest, uninterrupted reflection.

That idea has always stuck with me. Over the years, I’ve seen how much more open and at ease people become when they feel physically and emotionally safe. The couch, for me, represents that—comfort, warmth, and the quiet courage it takes to turn inward.

Cozy Couch Counseling is more than a name. It’s an invitation to soften, breathe, and begin the real work of healing in a space that welcomes every part of you.
